Referring to the 6th. paragraph of my Confident- -ial Despatch of the 30th. August, 1912, I have the honour to report that the persons arrested by the Kaoao Police on board the junk which was used for the attack on Cheung Chau Police Station,

were -

Kan Tai Ho, 25 years, of Shun Tak, a widow:

Ah Yi alias Wong Shek, 30 years, of Siu Chau, a

widow:

also a child and a leper woman.

A quantity of jewellery was found on Nos. 1, 2, and 3 and also on the junk. Tins of food-stuff and an empty cash box stolen from Cheung Chau were also found on the junk. At low tide on the same day the four Police revolvers stolen from Cheung Chau Police Station were found embedded in the mud near the junk. Chinese funeral apparatus and other indications proved conclusively that the junk was that used by the Cheung Chau pirates and that they had brought their two dead back to Macao after the piracy. Evidence of the burial in Chinese territory opposite Macao of the two pirates was also obtained. It was proved that part of the jewellery seized
